A series was recently released on Netflix about Jeffrey Dahmer. In the last episode of the series, it highlights that while in prison, Jeffrey Dahmer had an apparent conversion to Christianity. In Jesus’ final words before his Ascension, Jesus commands his disciples to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Baptism is essential to making disciples, but is baptism simply a sign that someone is already a disciple, or does baptism actually make someone a disciple?...

Words spoken by the apostles, would not contradict with epistles written by the apostles. Your use of second Thessalonians does not support the notion that Solola scripture is an error. All that passage means is that things were taught verbally/orally or written in an epistle. But the over arching thing you cannot miss and all of this is the word and would not contradict. However, bishops words, contradict with Paul, the apostles words. They contradict with what is written by the apostles. This cannot be so. Bishop have made things up and said it is justified because they believe they can insert their our own words.

I appreciate the dedication of Catholics in running educational institutions, orphanages, Old Age Homes, Hospitals, Feeding centres for the poor, other social services and the hierarchy of their church and organisations. However, I find that in matters of faith they give more importance to traditional prayers and rituals and less on Bible reading and study. Tradition is the "Word of Man" and Bible is "The WORD of GOD" There's a big difference between the two ❗ They use the intercession of Mary and the saints and praying the Rosary a repetitive prayer which are not Biblical. 1 Timothy 2:5. There is one God, and one intercessor between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Romans 10:17. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. It's when you prayerfully read and study the Bible that you develop faith in the God of the Bible. 👍 Hebrews 11:6. Without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. They also pray in front of statues, pictures and crosses/crucifixes when the Bible forbids the making of idols and bowing down before them. Exodus 20:4. You are not to make an image or picture of anything in heaven or on the earth or in the waters under the earth and bow down to them. John 4:24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. It is the Bible based faith that brings down the power of God to work miracles, signs and wonders❗ Lack of knowledge of the Bible makes you an easy target to Muslim preachers, Jehovah's Witnesses and other cultic faiths which are not according to the teaching of Jesus Christ. It's not a wonder that many such Catholics has lost their faith and many Catholic Churches in Europe and elsewhere and dwindling in numbers and members. 😪

I think that the Catholic Church was being corrupted in early history. For example idolatry was brought into the Church. It was now called worshipping saints. To be obedient to God, we must study his Word. After that I would pray and ask God help me find a church.

*The Catholic Church is one of the most corrupt institutions on earth.* Drowned in pedophilia and riches. With a boss who blesses homosexuality, when the Scriptures make it clear that it’s a sin, an abomination to God. (Romans 1:26,27) This church changed the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:4) to be able to do business selling images and sculptures (idols). Something that God hates. To continue doing business, purgatory was invented. That imaginary place that the Bible does not talk about. If you pay, you save your relatives from hell. And I could go on for lines and lines, talking about their abominations and heresies. That's why I encourage you to study the Bible, and to search and inform yourself well about the history of the Catholic Church. But look for information outside of Catholic sources, of course. Because they are experts at hiding. I highly recommend watching the movie: *SPOTLIGHT.* Based on a true story. The great problem of the Catholic Church is that when the head is corrupt, and the Vatican is, the entire body gets contaminated. *You cannot remain Catholic and not be a part of his abominations.* It's very important that you know this. ‭‭And I heard another voice from heaven saying, *“Come out of her, my people,* lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. (Revelation 18:4-5) *THE END IS NEAR.*

So convinced that your church could find no other book to give credibility and believability to your traditions. It had to be the bible? Why not the book of Mormon or the Koran? So your church unwittingly confirms Sola Scriptura. And if your church says that your traditions are from God, why the need to make it equal to scripture. Yes, scripture is the ONLY infallible rule of faith and practice. You are so blasphemous. You like most Catholics quote Thess to support tradition. What it says is that STAND FAST and HOLD the traditions that you HAVE BEEN taught. Not will be taught. Paul confirms what he meant when he added KEEP the traditions ASi delivered them unto you. So how do these scriptures give the church authority to keep adding traditions as it has throughout the years? Now can you show me where scriptures days that it has to be interpreted by someone. Scripture actually says that no scripture is of a PRIVATE interpretation. So your church commits a sin by saying it has sole authority to interpret scripture. Another lie here. Where does scripture say that the RCC WROTE and compiled the scriptures? Peter doesn't agree with you? So you are correct in saying that it is God's word. Do are you saying by claiming that scripture needs interpreting that somebody, at your choosing, needs to tell us what God is saying? It is him talking, right? Lastly, you say sola scriptura is not biblical, right? So tell me where scripture EXPLICITLY says anything about the immaculate conception, the assumption, the rosary, the papacy, pertusl virginity. EXPLICITLY! So if you can't show me where it says these doctrines are explicitly in the bible, then they are false. One rule to remember is this, before you look at the splinter in my eye, look at that burdensome LOG in your eye. If you really want people to read their Bible's they will probably leave Catholicism because it is nowhere to be found in scripture. You or any of your apologists can provide ANY, not one shred of evidence that Jesus, Mary, Peter or any of the other apostles, EVER believed, taught or practiced ANYTHING Roman Catholic doctrines. At least you can not conclude that by reading Peter's epistles. One example. You guys call Peter the chief shepherd. Who does Peter call the chief shepherd? Certainly not himself. Who does Peter say leads us to Jesus and God? Certainly not Mary. And why didn't Mary baptize Jesus as an infant? Tell me why did Mary offer a sin sacrifice for herself? Give me the biblical answer, not Rome's. I'll give you a HINT MARY believed SHE was unclean. So why does the church try to "unbelieve" and change what she and her JEWISH faith believed? One more thing. Probably just as important. Explain why Jesus, being Jewish, of a Jewish mother, with Jewish apostles would build a ROMAN catholic church? Would you pope build a Mormon or protestant church? Rediculous right? Well, so is your claim!

    • @bridgefin

You: Yes, scripture is the ONLY infallible rule of faith and practice. Me: Assuming for a moment that you are correct where does Scripture states THOSE words. You: Lastly, you say sola scriptura is not biblical, right? Me: Right! You: So your church commits a sin by saying it has sole authority to interpret scripture. Me: Jesus promised the apostles during his Last Supper:: John 14:15 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate* to be with you always, 17 the Spirit of truth,* which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you. So no sin if we are following the very promise of Jesus to the leaders of his church. You: So tell me where scripture EXPLICITLY says anything about the immaculate conception, the assumption, the rosary, the papacy, pertusl virginity. EXPLICITLY! So if you can't show me where it says these doctrines are explicitly in the bible, then they are false. Me: You are ASSUMING that Sola Scriptura is true when Scripture never says that all doctrines MUST be found in Scripture. You: If you really want people to read their Bible's they will probably leave Catholicism because it is nowhere to be found in scripture. Me: Except when they find that Jesus established ONE church and founded it on PETER and the apostles. They have the power to bind and loose and Peter holds the keys to the kingdom. And there is only one entity in the world which is as old as Jesus, 2000 years, and it also happens to be a church founded on the apostles and STILL has a Peter at the head. You: Tell me why did Mary offer a sin sacrifice for herself? Me: Ritual uncleanness is not spiritual uncleanness. If Mary had not offered a sacrifice you wolves would be condemning her for not following the law. You: Explain why Jesus, being Jewish, of a Jewish mother, with Jewish apostles would build a ROMAN catholic church? Me: It was only BASED in Rome which was the best headquarter location to reach the whole world even if inconvenient from a persecution standpoint.

@@bridgefin excellent Catholic propaganda. You have been thoroughly brainwashed. I will only address your Peter myth. First of all the church is not founded on Peter scripture clearly says that Christ is the head of the church. It also says he is the foundation, cornerstone and THE ROCK. "For other foundation can NO MAN lay than that is laid, which is cheap flights." That in Corinthians. Also in Corinthians scripture says that "they drank of that spiritual rock that followed them, AND THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST." Have you read what Peter himself says? Nothing like what you or your church say. How about 1 Samuel 2:2, "there is none holy as the LORD; for there is none beside thee; neither is there ANY ROCK like our God." Isaiah 44:8 "Do not tremble, be not afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses- is there any other God? No! There is NO OTHER ROCK-NOT ONE." SO what ANY OTHER ROCK or NO OTHER ROCK mean in these two scriptures? This is not talking about Peter, right? I mean he had not been born yet and this is not a prophecy about Peter. So the ROCK of Matthew is the same rock of Samuel and Isaiah. Easy for your church to convince you that the rock in Matthew is Peter when they ignore the rest of scripture.and you just fall for the lie because you have to. You have no choice or you are damned to hell.

@@rbnmnt3341 You: where does scripture say that the church has sole authority to interpret scripture? Me: A. First it says that no individual has that authority in 2 Peter B. Jesus told the apostles that is people heard THEM they heard HIM. D. Finally the Bible calls the church the pillar and foundation of truth. You: Where does scripture explicitly say the magisterium, the rosary, the papacy. Me: Silly question. Scripture no where says that we have to get doctrines or practices from Scripture. You: From the prophet Isaiah, To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according TO THIS WORD it is because there is no light in them." What word does this mean? Me: In context, it means that you will find no light in Inquire of ghosts and soothsayers. You: So you can't speak anything outside of God's word Me: It doesn't say that. And even if it did it does not say WRITTEN word. You: And if not everything has to be in scripture, could you please disprove that the Mormon church DID NOT get added revelation from God or that they didn't get their golden tablets from God as they claim? Me: I can't disprove that any more that I can disprove, to your satisfaction, that Luther and Calvin acted with no divine authority and simply led men away from God into their own make believe "churches". But the pillar and foundation of truth rejects the Mormon claims, the JW claims, and the Muslim claims. And it always has the Scriptures at hand to support and direct it. @@bridgefin Catholicism is the biggest make believe church. The rest of what you wrote is the same old Catholic propaganda. Here's the truth for the hundredth time. Jesus who is Jewish, of a Jewish mother, with Jewish apostles DID NOT build a ROMAN catholic church. Not happening, now or ever. Secondly you or your church have NO PROOF or EVIDENCE that Jesus, Mary, Peter or any of the apostles EVER believed, taught or practiced ANYTHING Roman Catholic doctrines etc. Not one shred of evidence. Show me where Peter ever presided over a mass. Payed the rosary, said pray to Mary, that the way to Jesus is through his mother. You guys say Peter is the chief shepherd. But who does Peter say is the chief shepherd? Certainly not him. And if Peter was the pope why was he involved in a strife with the other apostles? Do you know why? They were considering as to who should be the greatest among them. What??? I thought Peter was the pope? Should Peter have settled the issue being the pope? Didn't the other apostles know that Peter was the pope? And why was Peter contending with them if he was the pope? How about Jesus. How did Jesus react? Did Jesus stand up and defend "his pope?".Jesus did no such thing. Do you know why? He knew he was the same as the others, knew that he was no pope and Jesus never made him pope. Your church did. Besides Jesus had already said who he thought was the greatest. Matthew 11 is before Matthew 16 right? Matthew 11:11 Jesus talking. Guys, I know that talking, asking, and praying to the dead is necromancy, pagan worship, idolatry, and demonic worship because of my old traditional religious beliefs. They would ask favors like protection, good health, and wealth from their dead loved ones. They offer animal sacrifice, food, and burn paper money to the dead. You can see that what they are doing is worship. Worship is obedience and adoration. Worship belongs to only God. Please don't go ask the dead like King Saul, but go ask only God. We can pray to Jesus Christ because he is not dead. We can pray to Jesus Christ because he is God. He says to ask in his name that's why we conclude our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. Whose name did Jesus Christ say to ask other than in his name and to his Father? Did Jesus Christ say to pray to the saints, martyred, or his mother? ‭Deuteronomy 18:10-11 KJV‬ [10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, [11] or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. ‭1 Samuel 28:3-19 KJV‬ [3] Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. [4] And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa. [5] And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled. [6] And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. [7] Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at En-dor. [8] And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. [9] And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die? [10] And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. [11] Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. [12] And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. [13] And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. [14] And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. [15] And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. [16] Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy? [17] And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David: [18] because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day. [19] Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines. This is my interpretation of the spirit of Samuel in the passage above. When you seek, ask, cry, or pray to the dead, you are actually seeking demonic spirits, evil spirits, unclean spirits, satanic spirits, and not the person you are seeking or asking for. They lie that they are the person you want to talk to. They are just your adversaries that have been around with you and other people for so long that they know everything that has happened to you and other people. They can tell you what is true, but they can also tell you lies because they are deceivers. So even if the spirit of the person you are asking for actually answers your prayer or shows up, please don't believe him or her. It's just a deception because they can transform and take on the appearance of the dead; they even have the same voice as the dead. Therefore, I beg you to please keep praying only to God in the name of Jesus Christ. He has heard all our prayers, but he doesn't answer all prayers. He always answers the prayers that align with his will; so, seek his kingdom and his righteousness in his words, obey and do his commands. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself.

Dude, you seriously need to reevaluate your world view. Not only are your logical arguments flawed, but you’re trying to delegitimize the good that scientific advancements have done by allowing us to prevent and treat, among other things, sexually transmitted infections like HIV/AIDS. Also, not only is contraception an important tool in family planning, but in the empowerment of women, so stop blaming couples into having children they cannot, and should not be forced to have because some doctrine by some guy says so. Ultimately, having children should be your decision, no one else’s.

Protestants can’t get past the simple fact that not everything is in the Bible. In fact where in the Bible does it say that everything is in the Bible? There is also tradition handed down by the earliest Christians.

Prayer to the Saints and Mary is an ancient tradition of the early Church. Paul, in his letters contained in the Bible, encourages us to pray for one another so that GOD can hear everyone's prayers. It is not a sin and is not synonymous with adoration/veneration to pray to people closer to the LORD than us so that GOD can listen to our prayers in a better way. Intercession is a perfectly biblical concept, present in the Old Testament, where the Israelites always asked someone closer to GOD to pray for them (Moses, Abraham, the prophets...) and, as I said before, in the New Testament . The Apostles, when Mary was still alive, asked her to pray for them. Praying does not mean worshiping or venerating. We Catholics and Orthodox do not adore Mary and we do not adore the Saints and we do not adore the dead. Sometimes we ask these people closest to GOD to pray to the LORD for us. Purgatory is also biblical. Purgatory is a place of forgiveness and purification from one's sins. You can see this in 2 Maccabees 12, which I cannot quote now. The Israelites pray for souls to be forgiven. Obviously, some Catholics unfortunately exaggerate and go so far as to venerate Mary and the Saints as divinities, and this is a very serious sin. But obviously the Catholic Church does not teach this. Some make mistakes, but I only follow the Word of GOD, which allows us to ask people close to GOD to pray for us. Furthermore, most of the time we Catholics pray directly to the Father. Amen glory to GOD.

john 6 is about spiritually accepting Christ as a savior and Lord. the eating of Christ's flesh and drinking His blood was symbolic/metaphoric, just as He spoke in His parables. where in the bible do His apostles and disciples actually eat Christ's flesh, and drink His blood??? there wouldn't be enough of Jesus left to hang on the cross!!! by the way, the mass/eucharist is a denial that Christ's death and sacrifice on the cross was insufficient.

Perhaps you have been misinformed about Catholic beliefs. The Catholic Church teaches that all people are sinners in need of a savior (Rom 5:12-21). We inherit original sin and its consequences, and through our actual sins, we distance ourselves from God. We cannot save ourselves, but we don't need to: Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins. Salvation comes through Jesus alone (Acts 4:12) because He is the "one mediator between God and man" (1 Tm 2:5-6). The saving grace won by Jesus is offered to us as a free gift, accessible through repentance, faith, and baptism. We must turn away from our sins, express sorrow for them, and believe in Jesus Christ and the gospel. Repentance signifies our willingness to turn from what separates us from God, and baptism renews us, filling us with the grace needed to have faith and live it out. This belief goes beyond mere "head knowledge," which even demons possess (Jas 2:19). It is more than just believing in salvation, as the Pharisees did (Jn 5:39). True, saving faith is demonstrated through daily living and is characterized by "faith working through love" (Gal 5:6, cf. Jas 2:1-26).

To be honest, this explanation still did not convince me it is acceptable or encouraged or prescribed to pray to the saints. I think the scripture of Jesus giving the disciples the prayer is important to address. Also, i think it is important to address the repeated prayers said by Catholics and break them down. I'm non-denominational Christian.
